TapTale Terms of Service
Effective date: 31 October 2026
1. Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Gaurav Lamsal, an individual, of 1512 S Beltline Rd, Dallas, TX 75253, United States ("we", "us"), for the TapTale game and its services. You accept them and the Privacy Policy (https://play.crowncodex.online/privacy) by ticking the box on the title screen before you first play on a world; when we change them, the box shows again. If you do not agree, do not play.
Section 13 contains an arbitration agreement and a class-action waiver that affect how disputes are resolved. You can opt out of it within 30 days (section 13.5).
2. Who can play
TapTale is made for players 16 and older. You must be at least 13 to play; the game does not let players who say they are under 13 continue. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you may play only with the agreement of a parent or guardian, who accepts these terms for you. Purchases are not available to players under 18 (or who prefer not to say their age): the game shows no prices or buy buttons to them. Players under 18 also cannot summon with gems; in some countries (currently Belgium and Brazil) nobody can.
You must answer the age question truthfully. An age answer under 18 can later only be changed to a younger range.
3. Your account
- You can play as a guest, or sign in with Google or Apple. A guest account lives only on that device: if you uninstall the game, reset your device or lose it, the account cannot be recovered unless you linked a sign-in (Settings → Account).
- Worlds. TapTale runs on separate worlds (servers), starting with S1. Your account and character on one world are separate from those on another: progress, items, purchases, rankings, guilds and chat do not move between worlds.
- Keep your linked sign-in secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- One person, one account is not required, but creating accounts to farm rewards, to manipulate the arena or to abuse promotions is not allowed.
- You can delete your account at any time (Settings → Account → Delete account, for the world you are playing; or https://play.crowncodex.online/delete for every world). Deletion is permanent and removes your items, currencies and purchases, including unused paid items; the game warns you before you confirm. This does not affect any refund right the law gives you for a purchase (section 5).
4. Virtual items and currencies
- Gems, gold, heroes, items, Star Shards, Guild Coins, event tokens and other virtual items ("Virtual Items") are a limited, personal, revocable licence to use them in the game. They are not property, have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for real money or anything outside the game, and cannot be sold or transferred to another account.
- We may change, rebalance or retire Virtual Items and game features, for example to fix a bug or keep the game fair. We will not remove a paid item you hold without a reason given in these terms. Where the law of your country gives you rights about digital content you paid for (for example in the EU and the UK), those rights are not limited by this section.
- Mistaken grants (a bug or a server error that gave items) may be corrected.
5. Purchases
- Purchases are available only to players 18 and older. They are made through Google Play (or the App Store) and are subject to that store's terms. The price you see in the store is the price; it is the same for every player in your store country. We never show an invented "was" price.
- What each product contains is shown before you buy. The Monthly Card gives gems at purchase and a daily gem claim for 30 days (missed days are not paid later; it does not renew by itself). The Battle Pass lasts one calendar month (UTC); unclaimed earned tiers arrive by mail after the month ends. The Growth Fund pays gems at campaign milestones. Milestone packs are available for 48 hours after the milestone.
- Refunds are handled by the store under its rules and the law (for Google Play, its refund policy and request window). EU / UK players: Virtual Items are digital content supplied at once. By buying, you ask us to supply them immediately and acknowledge that you then lose your 14-day right of withdrawal once the supply has started; the store shows this at purchase.
- If a purchase is refunded or charged back, we remove what it gave you. If you already spent it, your account may show a negative balance and some features may be restricted until it is back at zero.
6. Summons, random items and odds
- Summons give random heroes. The odds of every rarity on every banner and the pity rules (the guarantee after a number of pulls without the top rarity) are shown in the game (the (i) Details button beside the summon buttons) before you summon, and are the same for every player.
- Each pull is drawn on our server; results cannot be undone or exchanged.
- Where local law restricts paid random items, the game follows it: gem summons are switched off in Belgium and Brazil, and for every player under 18.
7. Rewarded ads
Ads are optional. A reward is given only after the ad network confirms the view to our server; rewards are capped per day and may fail if the ad does not complete. We do not owe a reward for an ad that the network did not confirm.
8. Fair play and conduct
You must not: cheat, use bots or modified clients, exploit bugs (report them instead), attack or overload our servers, buy or sell accounts or items, impersonate staff, or use guild chat, display names or guild names to harass, threaten, share hateful, sexual or illegal content, share personal information, spam or advertise. The same applies to World chat, friend messages, photos, posts and comments.
Reporting. You can report any message, name, photo, post or comment, and block any player, in the game. Reports are reviewed by a moderator; photos are also checked automatically before anyone sees them.
We may remove content, reset ill-gotten progress, restrict features, or suspend or close accounts that break these rules. If we remove your content or restrict your account, you can ask which rule it broke and ask us to review the decision by writing to support@crowncodex.online with your Player ID within 6 months; we review it and tell you the result and the reasons.
9. Your content
You keep your rights in the text you write and the photos you upload. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, resize, re-encode, show and remove it within the game and its services, as needed to run them, for as long as it is in the game (and in backups for up to 14 days after). You confirm that you have the right to share what you upload and that it does not show anyone without their permission. Photos are checked before anyone sees them and are only for players who said they are 18 or older.
10. Our content
The game, its art, music, characters and software belong to us or our licensors. You may use the game for your own personal, non-commercial play. Third-party licences are listed with the game.
11. Service availability and changes
The game needs an internet connection and is provided "as is" and "as available". We may change, pause or end the game or any feature. If we decide to shut the game down, we will announce it in the game at least 30 days before, and stop selling Virtual Items when we announce it. Your rights under the law of your country (for example for digital content you bought shortly before) are not affected.
12. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability to you for all claims is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and 50 US dollars. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your mandatory rights as a consumer (for example under EU or UK consumer law).
13. Disputes and governing law
13.1 Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, and the US Federal Arbitration Act, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. If you live in the EU, the UK or another country whose law gives consumers protection that cannot be waived by agreement, you keep that protection and may bring a claim in the courts of where you live.
13.2 Talk to us first. Before starting a claim, write to support@crowncodex.online with your Player ID, a description of the dispute and what you ask for. We both try in good faith to settle it within 60 days.
13.3 Individual arbitration. If it is not settled, any dispute arising from these terms or the game will be resolved by binding arbitration on an individual basis, administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, instead of in court. The arbitration may be held by video or phone, or in the county where you live. The arbitrator may award the same individual relief a court could.
13.4 Class-action waiver. You and we may bring claims only in an individual capacity, not as a plaintiff or class member in a class, collective or representative action, and the arbitrator may not combine claims of more than one person.
13.5 Opt-out. You can opt out of sections 13.3 and 13.4 by e-mailing support@crowncodex.online, with the subject "Arbitration opt-out" and your Player ID, within 30 days after you first accept these terms. Opting out does not affect the rest of these terms.
13.6 Exceptions. Either of us may bring an individual claim in a small-claims court that has jurisdiction, and either of us may ask a court for an order to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property. Sections 13.3 and 13.4 do not apply to players in the EU or the UK.
13.7 Courts. Any dispute not subject to arbitration is brought in the state or federal courts in Dallas County, Texas, unless the law of the country where you live gives you the right to bring it there.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms and will post the new version with a new effective date; significant changes are announced in the game, and the title screen asks you to accept the new version before you play on.
15. General
If a part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest stays in force. Not enforcing a right is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours to someone who takes over the game, and will tell you.
